a poem by Joshua Brown
Indelible blood ink
On the ripped page
A contract hastily
Signed by criminals
A broken law set
In a cast of steel
Violence threatened
And pigs that squeal
I see the tumbler
Shaken not stirred
Money laundering
Daily work whirred
A hammer and nail
And the raining hail
To the beat of drum
A underground club
Take from the rich
Give to the poor
Equal the motherfucking score
By criminal whore
A badge and a gun
Betray the Holy One
Stupid poor people
Keep wasting on fun
Incensed at crime
What madness rhyme
By the gods of rome
Cage the human prime
The incompetent fool
Signed off on the rule
By a bloody signet
To equal animal net

Thanks for reading "Twelve Pigs Huffing" which was written on January 27, 2023 in Colorado, United States. Read more by clicking through to my last published prose which is titled "Human Number 3." It's a reflection on existence. The four human elements it examines are: systems, water, electricity and superstition.
