a poem by Joshua Brown
I grasp my throat in pure terror.
Who is this who kills me yet,
With sniveling contemplations,
Prevents me from release met?
Am I just a deluded fool or will
I myself to do evil to innocents?
Unchosen breath, unchosen dad
They know not but my curiosity.
Have I tied their hands past
And watch from portals dangerous
As they cast off the bonds they
Bear, their crosses bloody heave.
I will not allow.
For the past has no terror here
For time killed that man pathetic
The animal that shrunk in fear
Power handed to me by Blood
Fuck the black fingers scaly
That reach up from the temple
Torn apart by the God hailed.
Can I survive the onslaught
Of pigs, possessed by demons
Cast out by the Word, from I,
Hell bent on their bent will?
Happy will I be, not in future
But moments of courage fire
Razing the enemy, beset round
Strong against the Child holy
Backpack, hiding me from he
Who cast me to Hell, not last
But first. First moment of here
And see I a mirror of fear
A shadow of light cast inside
To remind me to escape
Escape.
To reality.

Thanks for reading "Time-Travelling Demon" which was written on the RTD bus route 153 in Aurora, Colorado, United States, North America on February 6, 2023. You are also invited to check out my last poem "Slav on Slav" which is a reflection on war in general and the sometimes obvious nature of deceit used to kill, not the enemy, but the young men propagandized into a suicidal State.
Comment below if my poems are of any interest to you. I enjoy writing them but I would love to hear any testimonies of people being challenged or encouraged by the ideas I express on this Blogger site!
