a poem by Joshua Brown
I saw a flower blooming
Soaking up the rays of sun
Petals flashing into brilliance
Strengthened by the Holy One.
God opened up the bloodied curtains
And looked out into earth's expanse
He saw the little flower blooming
He smiled soft and began to dance
Behind Him gunman stood
Gunpowder in the air
A three-hole mask concealed
An angry deadly stare
A happy cloud passed by the sun
And waved with friendly smile kind
The flower called out in cheerful glee
"Hello" the picture-perfect mind.
God fell out the window
Deep into outer space
A God betrayed by God
The shadowed sunken face
The bullet flew through Heaven's Gate
Propelled by vicious, blank emotes.
A crack rang out, spine-tingling crime
Shards of pearl flitting, anxious zygotes.
The war in heav'n raged
While earth in quiet slept.
Gods and Seraphs battle
Cherubs wailed and wept.
