a poem by Joshua Brown
And I looked out
Among the congregation
A soft thought cast
Into heartless cowards
A broken tree bent
By the noose filled
With the scapegoat of
Parental inaffection
Evil communicated by
The preponderance of Good tm
An illusion of justice
Committed by the congregation.

Thanks for reading "Mass." I wrote this poem during the service at Messiah Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado on December 4, 2022. Read my last poem: "Hotel Abortions" which is a reflection on the sexual deviancy commonplace in churches today.
Comment below if you have ever attended a True Believer service. Maybe you still are a True Believer. If you are, let me know what is the most important part of your religious convictions! ❤️

Donate! I have a few expenses associated with the website operations and although it is very generous of the Pexels artists and Blogger devs to allow me to use their services for free, I would love to build some of my own infrastructure for resilience purposes.
