a poem by Joshua Brown
Just shrivel up and die
For they will never know
Nor see your cowardly
Erasure into blackness
If there was hope already
Your heart would burst
And choice to be present
You will have made firm
But there is no hope
No hope
You have lost this war
And fallen to enemies
You will never win again
Not in this evidentiary
Family of contortionists
Backwards bent to hell
Be happy in your dream
And kill the nightmare
It birthed you, but left.
And now it is just you
