a poem by Joshua Brown
Relating to humans
Finding meaning in life
Thinking and thinking
But only finding strife
The child I brought
Into this world
And then another
In a world beyond
Alive but not to me
Dead but still breathing
Down my neck
Reminding me to drown
I didn't birth him
He was born of fire
Angry violent voices
All around stress
Why? he asks, Do you
Torture me so? Dread
The silent caresses
Of my own desire
I feed and clothe him
Or is it her? I know
Not. It is two children
Looking for connection.
